It allows you to choose favorites and to dislike and like songs, just like Pandora. But it goes one step further. Instead of building playlists from favorite artists and songs, it has pre-made lists that are built around genres, moods, activities, decades, and culture.
It makes it really easy to find just the right music to listen to. The Songza app starts off by taking you through the Concierge. I started using it on a Saturday night, so it asked me if I was having a sweaty dance party, relaxing at home, pre-gaming with friends, having love and romance, drinking at a bar, or going to bed.
Additionally, it has the Airplay function, so I can listen through my Apple TV on my television set as well. I poked around in Concierge for a little while trying out different playlists, and these then showed up in the Playlists tab. This remembers all the different playlists you tried, so that you can go back any time to ones that you particularly enjoyed listening to.
Record Store Clerk? I made sure I added that Playlist to my favorites. I want to find out what activity choices it will give me for Sunday morning. If not, and if I get tired of listening to the oldies on the Walking on Sunshine list, I can head to the Popular menu option and browse the Playlists of the songs that are trending and currently popular. The Songza app is going to be keeping me very busy for quite awhile.

Three services — Pandora, Spotify and Songza — have stood out among the rest and are competing sites in the new global market for streaming music. Grand Central breaks each one down so that you can choose the one that suits your musical style best.
Pandora is an online streaming service founded in that shuffles through various songs depending on your choice of artist or genre. Pandora also has ads, though relatively limited. Pandora, while it has its limitations, is suited for the average person and for background noise. But for the avid listener who is as neurotic about their music choices as I am, this may not be the site for you. Songza is a music generator and recommendation service that has been around since Users pick music based on different daily parameters.
Songza is intriguing in that it is explicitly suited to each day. The Saturday night collection has music for parties, music for going to bed early ironically enough and so forth.
It has a much more personalized feel than Pandora in that aspect. However, there are a lot of interesting playlists with appealing titles. Songza provides a rewarding experience in its diversity, yet it still suffers from the same things that makes Pandora feel dated and stale.
